The high temperature and high humidity environment during the rainy season can easily lead to condensation and decreased insulation performance inside the lighting electrical ready board, resulting in safety hazards such as short circuits, electrical leakage, and even fires. In response to this seasonal risk, it is necessary to establish a protective system from three aspects: moisture prevention, mold prevention, and leakage prevention, to ensure the safe and stable operation of the electrical ready board.

1、 Moisture proof design: block the path of water vapor intrusion

Optimization of sealing structure

Select electrical ready boards with a protection level of IP54 or above, and fill the joints of the box with silicone sealing strips or foam glue. Install waterproof gaskets on the door locks to prevent rainwater and humid air from seeping into the gaps.

Use moisture-proof cable sealing joints (such as gland heads) for the inlet holes to ensure that there are no gaps at the connection between the cable and the box; Unused threading holes should be sealed with waterproof plugs.

Ventilation and dehumidification balance

Open louvered ventilation openings at the bottom or side walls of the box, and install dust filters to avoid direct exposure to humid environments; If the internal humidity remains high, a micro dehumidifier or electronic humidity controller can be added to automatically activate the heating and dehumidification function.

For outdoor electrical ready boards, a rain cover can be installed on the top and the box body can be designed with a slope of ≥ 5 ° to prevent rainwater accumulation.

2、 Anti mold treatment: inhibits the growth environment of mold

Material selection and surface treatment

The interior of the box is made of mold resistant metal sheets (such as galvanized steel plates) or antibacterial plastics, avoiding the use of materials such as wood, cotton, and linen that are prone to moisture absorption and mold growth.

Spray anti mold coating (such as environmentally friendly coating containing silver ions or nano titanium dioxide) on the inner wall of the box to inhibit the growth of mold spores; Anodizing or spray coating treatment is applied to the surface of metal components to improve their corrosion resistance.

Environmental control and cleaning maintenance

Regularly clean the dust inside the electrical ready board, especially the wiring terminals, circuit breaker contacts, and other parts, to prevent dust accumulation and moisture absorption from becoming a breeding ground for mold.

Before the rainy season, a mold proof and drying bag (containing calcium chloride or silicone particles) can be placed inside the box and replaced regularly (it is recommended to check every 2 weeks).

3、 Anti leakage guarantee: Strengthen insulation and monitoring

Improved insulation performance

All wire connections are wrapped with insulated sleeves and secured with wire caps to prevent exposed wires from coming into contact with damp environments; Electrical components such as circuit breakers should be waterproof and dustproof (such as IP20 and above), and insulated protective covers should be installed.

Regularly use an insulation resistance tester to test the insulation resistance of the circuit inside the box, ensuring that the value is ≥ 0.5M Ω (≥ 1M Ω in humid environments).

Leakage protection and intelligent monitoring

The main switch and branch circuits of the electrical ready board are equipped with residual current action protectors (RCD), with an action current of ≤ 30mA and an action time of ≤ 0.1s, to ensure that the power supply is quickly cut off in case of electric shock to the human body.

Add an intelligent leakage monitoring module that displays real-time leakage current values and alerts maintenance personnel through a mobile app or sound and light alarms; If the leakage current continues to exceed the standard (such as>15mA), the trip protection will be automatically triggered.

4、 Emergency measures and daily maintenance

Emergency response process

When condensation or leakage is found inside the electrical ready board, immediately cut off the power, use a dry cloth to wipe off moisture, and open the box door for ventilation and dehumidification; If the insulation is severely damaged, the damaged parts need to be replaced before power can be transmitted.

Before thunderstorms, check the grounding device to ensure that the grounding resistance is ≤ 4 Ω to prevent lightning strikes from causing the box to become electrified.

Special inspection during the rainy season

Increase the frequency of inspections to once a week, focusing on checking the sealing of the box, the operation status of the dehumidification equipment, and the leakage protection function; Record temperature and humidity data, analyze the reasons for abnormal fluctuations.

Through the above measures, the risk of failure of lighting electrical ready boards during the rainy season can be effectively reduced, ensuring electrical safety. It is recommended to combine IoT technology (such as temperature and humidity sensors, leakage monitoring terminals) to achieve remote monitoring and further improve protection efficiency.
