Temperature rise testing plan for rural lighting electrical ready boards in Africa

Considering the high temperature, open air, and generally ventilated usage environment in rural Africa, the temperature rise test of the electrical ready board needs to be carried out in a step-by-step and standardized manner under rated current and long-term load operation.

Before testing, check the wiring tightness and ensure that the components are in normal condition. Place the electrical ready board in a simulated outdoor ventilated environment to avoid direct sunlight and strong winds. Select temperature measuring instruments and current monitoring instruments with the required accuracy, and record the initial temperature of the environment as a reference.

Connect the rated working current according to the design circuit, maintain the continuous operation of the entire circuit under load for a long time, and the continuous testing time shall not be less than 8 hours. During this period, real-time temperature measurements were taken for core components such as circuit breakers, terminal blocks, busbars, cable connectors, as well as the inner walls and outer surfaces of the enclosure. Record a set of data every hour, focusing on observing the trend of temperature changes until the values stabilize.

Calculate the temperature rise of each part as the measured temperature minus the environmental reference temperature. According to the low-voltage distribution specifications, the temperature rise limit for lighting circuit components generally does not exceed 40K, and the temperature rise for the casing does not exceed 30K. In local high-temperature environments, local overheating and contact overheating are strictly prohibited.

Observe for any odor, deformation, or abnormal tripping throughout the entire testing process. If the temperature rise exceeds the standard, it is necessary to investigate and rectify problems such as loose wiring, small component selection, and insufficient heat dissipation of the box to ensure the long-term safe operation of the equipment under local high temperature conditions.
