The common faults and troubleshooting methods of prepaid electricity meters are as follows:
1、 Interaction failure between purchase card and electricity meter
No response after inserting the power purchase card
Fault phenomenon: After inserting the power card into the electricity meter, the buzzer of the meter does not sound long, the power is not input, and the display items are displayed in rotation.
Solution: Re insert the key modification card or contact the power company to verify the issuance status of the electricity meter.
No output after reading the card of the electric meter
Fault phenomenon: After reading the card, the meter has no power output and the relay is not engaged.
Solution: Check if the meter relay is faulty and replace the meter if necessary.
No display when inserting the card
Fault phenomenon: After inserting the power purchase card, there is no display on the electricity meter.
Solution: Check if the electricity meter is powered on, confirm if the card is correctly inserted into the slot, and replace the meter if the slot is damaged.
2、 Abnormal display fault on the electricity meter
Display E-11 error code
Fault phenomenon: The electricity meter displays the E-11 code.
Solution: After purchasing electricity, new users can automatically reduce their load and use it normally; Old users need to contact the sub bureau for meter installation and replacement.
Display error codes E-12, E-13, E-15, E-17
Fault phenomenon: The electricity meter displays ESAM module or authentication related error codes.
Solution: Contact the sub bureau's watch installation team to change the watch.
Display E-1B error code
Fault phenomenon: The meter displays clock fault code E-1B.
Solution: The electricity meter can still measure but needs to be replaced.
Display E-18 error code
Fault phenomenon: When purchasing electricity again, the meter displays an inconsistent user number error code E-18.
Solution: Retrieve the original power card or contact the sub bureau's meter installation team for processing.
Display E-19 error code
Fault phenomenon: During the power consumption process, the meter displays the overload power-off code E-19.
Solution: Check if the household load exceeds the limit, and if necessary, apply for capacity increase or meter replacement; If there is a short circuit in the wiring, the circuit needs to be repaired.
Display E-14 error code
Fault phenomenon: The number of power purchases on the meter display card does not match the code E-14 on the meter.
Solution: Contact the sub bureau's meter installation team to reset and rewrite the meter card data.
Display E-16 error code
Fault phenomenon: The electricity meter displays illegal card or card failure code E-16.
Solution: Contact the sub bureau's watch installation team for handling.
3、 Basic function failure of electric meter
No display when powered on
Fault phenomenon: There is no display on the electricity meter after it is powered on.
Solution: Check if the incoming, outgoing, and neutral connections of the live wire are correct. If the wiring is correct and the circuit is energized, replace the meter.
There is power in the table but no output
Fault phenomenon: The electricity meter displays electricity but no output.
Handling method:
If it is caused by overload, the user needs to reduce the power load and insert a card to restore power supply;
If the remaining battery level is equal to or less than the secondary alarm battery level, it is necessary to insert a card to restore power supply;
If the relay fails, the meter needs to be replaced and the card needs to be reinserted after "resetting and replenishing" in the power sales system.
4、 Other faults
Card reader not reset
Fault phenomenon: When reading the card, it shows that the card reader has not been reset.
Solution: Check if the data cable and power connection of the card reader are good.
The computer remains inactive for a long time
Fault phenomenon: The computer does not respond for a long time when reading the card.
Handling method:
Change serial port settings (usually 1 or 2);
If the system information is incorrect, contact the network administrator for repair;
Replace the card reader.
